Closure Week Meet Ups

  1. Please ensure you have a HAND Card. This will help you get discounted entry prices / free entry where available. (If you require a HAND Card, apply online and you will receive a digital copy of the card immediately. All information about the HAND Card and activities on offer for the closure week can be found here:
  2. Please see below daily activities where there will be at least one other Valley School family present. Each child needs to be accompanied by a parent or carer. Booking instructions are given.
  3. Any changes to the plans will appear on this website and sent out via Schoolgateway where possible.   All are welcome: please contact the school via marked FAO Sue Davis (Year 8 parent and point of contact) and we will let her know to look out for you.

Paradise Wildlife Park, Broxbourne  EN10 7QA

10.30 – 3.00 pm.  Disabled / SEND child with Carer combined ticket £14.10 if booked online by 11 pm the night before, or £15 on arrival on the day.

Park is open from 9.30.  Meet at 10.30 am in The Jungle Tumble (soft play area with café).  Bring picnic (or you can also buy lunch / snacks there).

Air Space Trampolining, Stevenage Leisure Park, SG1 2UA

2pm or 3pm.  £5 (instead of £10.50) – for the 2pm or the 3pm sessions on that day only.  See below for how to book your place – limited to 20 “Jumpsters” per session, so first come, first served!  NB There is now a discounted “Valley School” price available for ALL the 2pm or 3pm sessions, Monday-Friday for Valley School pupils.  The discounted rate (apart from on 25/2/20) is £7.

Book directly with Stevenage Air Spaceby emailing . The Parent/Carer needs to quote “The Valley School” to be eligible for the discounts. Carer with a HAND card can also jump for free.  (NB there is also the “Peaceful Play” autism-friendly session at 4pm as well every Monday, price £10.50; this session can be booked online if you fancy trying it out as well / instead.)

Meet at the Briefing Session, at 1.50 pm, or 2.50pm.  A waiver needs to be signed (either at the venue for each visit, or online which then lasts for a year).

Indoor Adventure Golf at Mr Mulligans, Stevenage Leisure Park, SG1 2UA

11am –12 noon or later, Sensory Session, autism friendly.  £4 for an 18 hole round.  Choose either theme: “Ocean” (under water with ultra violet lights) or “Jungle” (dinosaurs etc).  £4 includes a Free Carer to play golf too!  Café on site; play a 2nd round for just £2 extra.

Dog Walking in Shepalbury Park, Stevenage SG2 8NP

1.30pm – 3 pm.   Bring a dog, or help walk someone else’s!  This park, less than a mile from school, which has a new play area and exercise trail, basketball hoops and plenty of space.  Nearby café too!

Meet at the Play Area (near Lodge Lane –  SG2 8DB – 5 minutes walk from main car park).

Hollywood Bowl, Stevenage  SG1 2UA

10 – 11 am,  £3.25 per game per person (This is half-price, and applies to children with additional needs and their Carer).  Book and pay for one game per person by phone to the number below, quoting “Sue Davis – reference no: G4SD-00WIL8.  Tel:  01442 768 760.  This ensures that all bookings are linked and that we can share lanes, adjacent to each other.  Meet at 09:55 in Reception.

12.00 – 1.30 pm

Public swimming session, £3.50 per child. Carer swims / spectates for free.  Pay on arrival.
