In Steps

In Steps, the Key Stage 4 Nurture Group, we have had a busy and eventful time.

Tudor went to Cashott, and enjoyed all the activities and we are proud of him, because, although partially sighted, he participated and did really well!

We had a combined sleepover at school with The Bridge, and we all had fun together, playing games and chatting, and later helping each other to get our tents ready for the night. We watched the film, “Beauty and the Beast”, and sang along to the songs, because we remember it well- it was our school play this year! Miss Kirk and Miss Casey brought us hot chocolate and then we went to sleep. It was strange but nice having breakfast in the dining hall before going straight to school. We hope to do this again!

We went on excursions out of school for our Learning for Life lessons, such as to Boots in Roaring Meg retail park nearby, to learn more about products we can use for personal care. We remembered our Green Cross code walk out safely.

In Science we have done some fun experiments, like making Elephants’ Foot toothpaste which bubbled right over and really does look like an elephant’s foot!

We also painted our chosen superhero heads for our Big Art project for Arts Week.

Shea and Tudor have started going to The Net on a Thursday, and are doing well there. They will go full time next year when they leave The Valley School.

We welcomed Sasha into Steps, and he has quickly become a part of our group. He has a good sense of humour!

Shea, Thomas, Daliso and Conor are doing music lessons and maybe we can start our own Steps band!
Our class assembly is on how to stay safe at Halloween. This is relevant as it will be Halloween when we come back from half term.
