The Den
The Den is a designated room that provides multi-sensory integration and a ‘chill out’ place for pupils who are finding being in the classroom difficult at times.
The school has a designated Den co-ordinator who takes responsibility for the Den and its accessibility to all pupils across the school.
Pupils who spend time in the Den are sensitively counselled to identify learning barriers, and practical ideas and strategies are given to help them, and staff, to learn to manage these difficulties.
Alongside providing occupational therapy, Sensory circuits and Physio therapy, the Den also provides integration, social and sensory play sessions at lunch times.
