Aladdin
Aladdin
After two terms of hard work and some final rehearsals this week, the school’s Aladdin Company, led and directed by Mrs Crosby, performed their two shows on Wednesday and Thursday Evening.
The house was full on both evenings and it was lovely to see the Mayor make an appearance to watch the first show.
The guests arrived and were treated to refreshments in the sunshine outside our Year 11 area, prior to making their way to the entrance. The reception area and the door surrounds to the main hall were beautifully decorated by themed art work from the students.
‘Incredible’, ‘amazing’, ‘phenomenal’ and ‘outstanding’ have all been used by parents, carers and the wider school community when describing the production.
It was wonderful to see so many of our students on stage, obviously enjoying themselves. The quality of the performances was indeed outstanding and testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole company.
The Lamp Seller kept everyone in order, the Genie wowed, Aladdin charmed, Jasmine showed strength and beauty, Jafar was just scary enough and……. the carpet flew! The students involved excelled themselves and, in the words of the script, created ‘something magical’.
The cast were rewarded with generous applause from a captivated audience. The whole production was amazing and the staff and parents couldn’t have been more proud of all involved.
A massive thank you needs to be extended to all the school staff involved and Mrs Crosby for leading and directing the whole show.
