Rights Respecting School Silver Award

I am delighted to be able to share the news that on Tuesday this week we were successful in achieving the Silver Rights Respecting School Award.

This was the culmination of nearly a year of hard work, and showed that the whole school community has made good progress towards embedding children’s rights into the learning, policy and practice. The Assessor spent the morning interviewing a group of students as well as some of the teachers, support staff and governors, and commended The Valley on being a very happy and safe school, with enthusiastic learners who enjoyed talking about their Rights in a positive and thoughtful way.  Our journey to Gold Award will take up to 2 years, but we have lots of ideas to work on and are excited to see how the school continues to develop through our Rights Respecting journey.
