As a school we are celebrating Immy’s success in her Regional trampolining Competition. She performed amazingly well, achieving her highest ever score. Well done Immy, we wish you further success in the future.
Teddy, Ms Flynn’s 2.5 year old Cockapoo visited The Valley School on Wednesday. He spent most of his time in the Year 9 area and Teal class. All of the children were fantastic and so caring and kind to Teddy and he is now an honouree member of Teal class. Teddy had a calming effect on the children and was a lovely addition to the class; the children have already been asking when he can come back.
Parents evening for year 11 is on Thursday 15th February 2024 from 4-7pm and takes place online via video chat. This is an important evening and provides you with an opportunity to discuss your child’s learning and achievements at The Valley School.
To facilitate the evening the school will be using School Cloud, an online appointment booking system. This allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and have them confirmed via email.
You have the opportunity to book a maximum of three appointments with different staff members. We strongly recommend booking an appointment with your child’s form tutor and two optional additional appointments with subject teachers that you feel you need to discuss anything else.
Please visit https://valleyschool.schoolcloud.co.uk/ to book your appointments.
Students used blenders to make their own milkshakes and were amazed at how easy is was to make their own one at home.
The students have been discussing air resistance in Science. We looked at how shape affected the friction by folding paper aeroplanes and had great fun testing them out in our playground.
During their Year 10 Maths lesson, students have been practising buying and selling things from their ‘mock’ shop. Lewis showed me how he worked out how much money he had to spend and whether he had received the right amount of change.
Hugh started at The Valley on 11th November 1991; essentially before any of our current students and even some of our staff were born.
He has decided to leave us to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. He has planned to do some D.I.Y and look after his young grandchildren.
We wish him all the best and hope that he visits us often.
Year 8 Lime have been learning about the Trojan Horse and have thoroughly enjoyed building their own in class.
The end result was almost as big as some of the children.
It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, and the creativity of the staff, in bringing the lessons to life.
Students have been working hard, planting bulbs ready for the spring.
